I went to Mayor Bloomberg's company for a Chess-a-Thon. The building is amazing. Hands down. Fucking awesome. I got a partner....don't remember his name, just that his last name is Mayo. And apparently he was always defeated by 12 year old kids. So I told him, "don't worry, I'm pretty bad too". So he was all happy and told his co-workers, "Don't worry, I'm going to win this time, they gave me a rookie" So i got fucking pissed.
I think that affected how I played (ontop of me playing black, which I suck at after 2 years of hiatus) and he was winning. But at the last minute, he didn't see a move and when I saw it, I switched the game around. When he was down to a king and knight, I offered him Oreos (they let us have free snacks and drinks) and said "The tables have turned."
And then I played him in five minutes blitz and my blood must've warmed up because I check-mated him in under three minutes. I don't think I've played this good since 5th grade. :D
Then I played this guy, and then I teamed up with another guy to play these two employees in Bug House. They kept stalling because it was inevitable checkmate but it was still very fun =]

Funny quote:
Mayo: I don't think I do too well against New York Public School kids.
Caroline: Oh don't worry, there's only a couple million of them.

Yays, I'm getting 2+ extra credit on my Japanese test because my group did well for Jeopardy...it's been so long since I got extra credit.

All in all, a good day.

This seems like the calm before the storm. Report Card day tomorrow. Kill me.

He pulled the prisoner's face closer and whispered with a fierce whisper, "submit to me"
napoleon, still having a spark of dignity, spat both blood and saliva at the prussian king and hissed out with anger, "never!"

Anyways, I took these pictures on Michelle's bday (the eleventh) but I finally had the chance to upload them:

OW
I debated discussing my whole surgery process in detail, but I didn't want to freak you guys out. Basically, my left side is slowing un-numbing itself and hurts like a bitch. And I have cotton in my mouth and as my mom says, I look like I'm mad at a whole village. (Look at my userpic. Its a bit like that)

I arrived there after eating Vietnamese and having bubble tea (my last meal!) at about 4:00PM before going there. The actually surgery wasn't...that bad. Everyone there was very friendly and nice a bit too friendly, disturbed me when the doctor is holding a drill to my mouth and turns to ask the nurse when is she getting married.

The doctor let me listen to my music and gave me this gas that was supposed to calm me down. So he first numbs my side and then quickly says "There's a slight pinch" and stabs the needle with anesthesia right into the nerve along my jaw. And then he says "just close your eyes and breath in the gas. I'm supposed to be feeling relaxed right? And the only thing i could think was "Oh fuck! I can feel him cutting into my gums!"

I think I scared the nurse and doctor a bit because the entire time, instead of even whining or sleeping or making noise, I was just staring at them creepily. "Are you asleep yet?" "Nnn..."

I realized that whenever I am in a bad mood or after I've gone to the doctors, I love to go on a shopping spree. Apparently, buying random crap makes me feel better.

Currently: hungry and in pain

Genetic's trip to Cold Spring Harbor DNA Center.
Except Dr. Ned deceived us. We did not really go to Cold Spring Harbor. It was a branch of the original. Except it looked like a white building that did not even have a proper entrance. There was a paper sign saying "DNA Learning Center West" and then the steep stairs with peeling paint and cement. No Dr. Ned. Not shady at all.

I zoned out half the time, but it was pretty fun. We got to isolate, amplify and then analyze our DNA using centrifuges, gel electrophoresis and PCR. Or at least I think that's what it is called...all I know is that we gargled saline solution, spat our saliva and then divided that into a million capsules to centrifuge and heat and re-centrifuge and then race it on gel. :D  I knew I should've read the instruction packet.
Apparently, I'm distantly related to half my class. And that would be all the asians. ROFL. My mistake. All asians + one white boy.

I still feel cheated though. Dr. Ned made us pay $5 for pizza and soda but half of us only got 1 slice because some people were being pigs and ate three slices. Either that or Dr. Ned cannot count.

We got a tour of the facility which was pretty cool. Makes me appreciate the robotics they use in labs more and sympathize the poor doctors that sit in the lab using pippettes with blood and urine sample all day. No wonder Dr. Ned became a teacher. Carpel Tunnel is only half of it.

(But I'm probably going to get it too from too much typing. Is my presumed minor arthritis a symptom?)

The ride there was pretty nostalgic. I haven't been in a cheese bus since 5th grade. I forgot how bumpy and ass-numbing they could be.

Tomorrow's Michelle's ice-skating birthday party. Despite the whole "let's make a fool of Sara by watching her slip and slide and fall on her ass all day" part, I'm quite looking forward to it :D

(BECAUSE SARA FAILS AT LIFE AND DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO USE HTML I (Erica) HAD TO DO IT FOR HER |8 So all of this stuff happened ... exactly a week ago

Today was half day (yays!). I got back my math test (how does he grade it so fast with PTC last night?! o.o) >.> I got a 90 because I had full score off one question, but the rate problems were pretty easy...I studied the wrongs things...as usual...

I went to 34th street with [info]wmei and [info]xmujitsux today afterschool. We went around looking for Halloween costumes... Erica's going as Gokudera and I'm going as Dino. Angie isn't dressing up though...

We went to Book Off and Kinokuniya afterwards. I bought this photobook of the L actor from the live action movies. The book cost a lot (guess i'm buying useless stuff for the next few months) but it's so worth it :D

L File. 15 )

I apologize for all the horribly taken pictures...my camera (still don't know how to use it LOL) was changed to manual until halfway I noticed and changed it back to auto (cuz I obviously need help) and that's when the better quality came out =]

E in Genetics (except the comments say "lack of participation; has ability to do better", o.O what's better?) and Global, but only because the beginning of Genetics was easy, I barely understand whats going on right now, and Global because my teacher's tests are super easy compared to Ms. Garcia's tests last year.

S's in everything else.

Except that U Mr. Orlando gave me for Lab b/c the two people above and below me got U's and he gave me the wrong grade -_- he said he was going to change it though.

So much homework, and I am seriously going to do horrible on my math test tomorrow...and Japanese listening quiz as well...

I'm going to try to finish my homework and study before midnight (yeah right)

Good news: parents finally turning on the heat, as indicated by my userpic...it's too damn cold and it's not even Halloween yet -_-

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge carrying lighted balloons representing the Stuyvesant Robotics Team in honor of all those affected by blood cancer.
It was pretty amazing walking with everyone, when they started playing nice songs and the walk began, but 10 minutes in, it didn't get that great -_-

The walk started at SEVEN on a THURSDAY. I suppose I'm luckier than Mao and Jessina and Raymond who live in Queens, but when we got lost after walking off the bridge...

10:12PM and I'm finally home. My legs and shoulders are going to be so sore...ontop of walking across the bridge and halfway Manhattan, I woke up late so I ran to the subway station and to school, and had P.E.

Good point of the day: Shohad from Japanese class gave me a KHR poster!!! I'll take a picture of it when I bring it home xD

(One more thing, if you have a chance, inhale helium and speak. It is HILARIOUS)

Okay, tons of homework to do now. (I'm alive [info]wmei where are you?!)

edit
okay, thank god you signed on right after i posted this...now i know you're not raped or kidnapped either :D
extra tibit:
[info]wmei : we must put on our hoods and look suspicious so we won't get raped or robbed
me: but i'm wearing all black!
[info]wmei : oh great, then you're going to get run over

So like I have academic seminar every Monday for the Chess-in-the-Schools college bound program, and like I'm having a recent addiction to McDonalds $1 Sweet Tea and $1 for 2 apple pie (gee, it's better than the cheeseburger)

Anyways, I was coming back from the one today (right before, while I was waiting for Aia, I went to Barnes&Nobles and they were giving out free samples of this new drink like a cinnamon pumpkin latte (tastes so good) and brownies and Reese's cookies and stuff, wow I'm really diverging from the topic) and then on the train ride back home, I had this insane debate with Aia. A bit idiotic because she's a speech and debate team member and I'm...not. Well, as per ritual, I had the political/US debate with her, and, embarassingly enough, the entire ride, we were debating.

And then...a  lady who was sitting in front of us says:

"What grade are you in?"
"Uh...10th."
"I'm sorry, but it's just so funny and entertaining"

And we continue debating as she laughes her ass off the entire ride.

Coolest thing was, I reached a stalemate.

Incase you wanted to know:
Aia = religious people who vote because of religious people are idiots and those who don't vote are also idiots and should be blamed for the way the government is heading
Me = it shouldn't matter who is blamed b/c in the end, we're all going down together. And then my environmentalist dream about the whole world because nice and equal and unselfish.

List of what I have to do:
-homework
-Spectator tryout stuff
-insane 5xover penalty fic
-scripts
-restart 100 theme challenge
-library volunteer

Right after school, me and [info]wmei went right to the convention site. Or at least we TRIED to, some lady gave us the wrong directions and we walked two avenues before we found out we were heading in the wrong direction. :O
And that place is really creepy. Full of factories and very, very shady-looking. Some guy walked out of this building in a trench coat and was carrying a black bag. What would you think?

So TIRED!! I walked all day with my heavy bookbag, and the worst thing was, me and [info]wmei only visited the Artist Alley and Merchandise Section. We were going to go to a panel, but we got distracted by expensive things.

[info]wmei ended up buying doujin ARTBOOK (THAT I AM NOT ALLOWED TO TOUCH BECAUSE I HAVE DIRTY OILY HUMAN FINGERS), bookmarks, keychains, prints and a shirt. And she ran outta money and had to borrow from me.
I spent so much...about $100...and I was not buying anything at all until [info]wmei convinced me to buy one thing, and then I went on a spree. T.T That always happens. TOMORROW I WILL NOT BUY ANYTHING NOTHING NADA.

What I bought:

6 prints (I think I OD'd a bit O.o)
2 shitajiki (Reborn for me, Hell Girl for my friend's bday xD)
1 bookmark (Dino and Hibari xD it's so nicely paired, I couldn't NOT buy it. And now I can read the Odessey on the train and not fall asleep as I stare at my OTP lmao)
1 box of rings

Y/Y?! ($35 T.T)

Front cover: (Lambo looks pretty cute, now that I think of it)

#)%NIU#%!)&$#%*)#!*!@#%$ I posted up 3 cosplay pics before I gave up. I hate uploading pics on LJ...
I think [info]wmei 's uploading them xD so go to her ^^;; (sorry [info]ilwor >< I just suck too much at LJ)

Anyways, off to do the Comp Sci hw that I have to submit before midnight. Wonderful.

17 September 2008 @ 09:40 pm

I attended a free Japanese Rakugo performance with my Japanese club president today. It was so amazing and funny! For some strange reason, I can't remember much jokes but my fav:

If a man caught his wife in bed with another man:
In America: he would pick up a gun and bang! bang!
In England: he would close the door and knock.
In France: he would join in.
In Japan: they would trade business cards.

See how polite Japanese people are?

And another one:

(80th anniversary for a couple)
Woman: Honey, remember when we were young we used to drink coffee naked. Let's try that again.
*after lots of begging and awkward moments* Oh honey. I remember when I would stare at you, my bosom would heat up. Oh it is so hot right now.
Man: Of course it is hot, your breast is sagging into your coffee.

There was even this TBS tv station that interviewed me and Jenny-senpai, but I'm not going to say anything about it because it was really embarassing.

Agh...feet is killing me. I seriously think I pulled a muscle...Damn Ms. Rosenthal....next time she tells us to run, don't go and talk to a student and forget that we are still running laps around her....and she dares tell us "wow, it's so cool in the gym today" when we're all hot and sweaty for running about twenty laps before she finally told us to stop.

I had to write an in-class thesis essay and I only wrote 3/5 paragraphs...darn.

Haha and Genetic fun stuff:
Dr. Ned: Do you have anymore questions?
Female Student: What genitals do hermaphrodites have?
Josh (senior): I know! I have first hand experience.
Class: *gasp*
Teacher: Josh. What do you mean?
Josh: Nevermind. Ignore what I said.
Teacher: No, no. I want to know now. I'm stopping my lesson for this. Tell me Josh.
Josh: Well this summer, I was in Peru.
Teacher: In Peru?
Josh: Yeah, I was digging these mud houses for people in a village with my partner-
Teacher: Your partner?
Josh: It was nothing! We were just digging.
Student: Yea, you and your partner in mud.
Josh: And then all of a sudden a girl comes out of the house, throws off her pants and pees into the mud. She had a penis.
Teacher: You sure it was a she?
Josh: Yes, the village was pretty...incestuous, so there was like five of them.
Teacher: Wait, five what?
Josh: Hermaphrodites. Girls with dicks.
Teacher: *twitch*
Class: *laugh like crazy*

*moments later*

Teacher: I cannot believe you just said that. Promise me you'll be good Josh?
Josh: Okay...I promise not to say the D-word again...

Meme

Got tagged by [info]wmei .

01. What's your internet alias and what's the idea behind it?
Most of the time it is dragonmage27, and that's because it was from when I was younger and just got into the "internet" world. I needed a nickname for Gunbound and my brother chose it for me. I still am into dragons and magic though.

02. What do you do first in the morning?
Ignore my first three alarms, sleep for another half hour and then finally wake up. If it's not a school day, then I sleep for five more hours.

03. Which fandom ate most of your brain?
Way too many...currently its Hitman Reborn....and I know who to blame -glare-

04. What is your favorite fragrance?
Orchards and other plants my mom grows around the house I guess. Also the Melon Burst air freshener I use. And anything lemon or apple.

05. What videogames are you playing at the moment?
Monster Rancher.

06. What do you eat the most?
Rice. Everyday for dinner...sometimes for breakfast and often for lunch on weekends...

07. Do you trust easily?
Depends if I have a good impression of you or not the first time. But most of the time, I trust way too easily.

08. What was your first big fandom?
Hunter X Hunter. I'd still like it if it isn't all about bugs learning nen and taking over the world. -_-

09. Is there anything that has made you unhappy these days?
Stress.

10. Do you have a good body-image?
No.

11. Is being tagged fun?
Kinda?

12. What websites do you visit daily?
FF.net, Yahoo Mail, Hotmail, Gmail, DV, LJ

13. Who are currently the most important people to you?
The people who have actually been to my house and visited my room. Yes, that has a very significant meaning.

14. What kind of person do you think the person who tagged you is?
[info]wmei is direct (in a good way), smart, sweet and artistic. ilu bby <3

15. What’s the last song that got stuck in your head?
Breathe - Greenwheel.

16. What’s your favorite item of clothing?
Sweaters.

17. What's better: to give or to receive?
It feels good to give, but even better when you receive. Sadly, I'm a sucker for friendships so I'm almost always at the short end of the stick. I give more than receive. =[

18. What would you buy if you had the money for it?
PS3 but I'll settle for a DS or a music player with more than 1 GB memory.

19. What items could you not go without during the day?
Computer.

20. What should you be doing right now?
Washing dishes, then shower, then Japanese essay then fic-a-day

21. What personality trait do you wish you possess?
Discipline.

I tag...everyone who reads this and didn't do it already.

It feels sad that only seven years has passed since the terrorist attack, and already it's not important enough to receive a special banner on Google or Yahoo.

I would just like to say, that I despite the facts that I will bite your head off if you have opposing opinions with me concerning politics, I love America. I may be Chinese, but America is my home.

God Bless those who lost their lives on 9/11.

Depressed because I have a genetics diagnostic test that's probably gonna get me kicked outta this elective test. And my brother isn't home.

Semi-depressed because nobody is going to watch a FREE JAPANESE COMEDY PERFORMANCE WITH ME. -huff- gawd..it's not like YOU have a math test the next day. -sigh- the sacrifices i do for entertainment.
